The Big Latch and some Community Love!

Waiting around getting ready for our official latch period.

This morning was the Big Latch On 2012 and Little #2 and I attended the location sponsored by our local LLL.  It was really interesting to watch as breastfeeding mothers descended upon the location in our local children’s park.  We all looked a little nervous until we were met with the warm smiles of our LLL leaders or other moms that we knew.  Breastfeeding is a lot easier when you have the support of a friendly face.  I was lucky enough to be taken in by a group of mothers since my sole breastfeeding friend was not able to attend.

The moms in my area have been pretty approachable which is lucky for me since I’m a bit standoffish.  We chatted for a bit about baby-led weaning, teething, amber necklaces, twiddling necklaces and sleeping.  Then we latched and off we went.  Nice morning, not too much pressure but just enough community to make mothers feel comfortable.
